The Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files enable data users to create custom estimates and tables, free of charge, that are not available through ACS pretabulated data products. The ACS PUMS files are a set of records from individual people or housing units with disclosure protection enabled so that individuals or housing units cannot be identified.

The ACS helps local officials, community leaders, and businesses understand the changes taking place in their communities. It is the premier source for detailed population and housing information about our nation. The ACS replaces and includes nearly all of the topics included in the decennial census 2000 long form. It is one component of a reengineered decennial census and is designed to address the nation's need for more current information of the characteristics of its population and housing.

The CTPP Data Access Software is a powerful tool to access data provided by the Census Bureau. The software contains a robust map tool, for both selecting geography and rendering results. Results can also be presented as various style charts and tables that can be rearranged to suit your analysis and display needs. Data from the tool can be downloaded as comma or semi colon delimited .csv, .xml, .shp, .tab.

The Consumer Expenditure Surveys (CE) program provides data on expenditures, income, and demographic characteristics of consumers in the United States. The CE program provides these data in tables, LABSTAT database, news releases, reports, and public use microdata files. Consumer Expenditure Survey data include the expenditures and income of consumers, as well as the demographic characteristics of those consumers.

The tables show average expenditures, income, and characteristics for consumer units classified by 13 characteristics--quintiles of income, before-tax income class, age, size of the consumer unit, composition of the consumer unit, number of earners, housing tenure, race, type of area (urban or rural), Hispanic origin of reference person, region, occupation, and education. The report also includes a brief discussion of expenditure changes for the year, a description of the CE survey, and a short glossary. |

Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEDLEHD) is a voluntary partnership between state labor market information departments and the U.S. Census Bureau to develop new information about local labor market conditions. Also provides detailed maps (OnTheMap) showing where people work and workers live with companion reports on worker ages, earnings, industry distribution, and local workforce indicators.

The MLA Language Map is intended for use by students, teachers, and anyone interested in learning about the linguistic and cultural composition of the United States. The Language Map uses aggregated data from the 2006 to 2010 5-Year ACS to display the locations and numbers of speakers of thirty languages commonly spoken in the United States. Comparative tables and graphs provide a snapshot of changes between 2000 and 2010 in American language communities, showing the age of the speaker and ability to speak English.
